Platinum miner, Aquarius Platinum has resumed operating at the Kwezi shaft at the Kroondal platinum mine following the lifting of suspension notices issued on 25 March 2013.

Mining operations were temporarily suspended following a fatal accident at the mine, which occurred 21 days after Kroondal had achieved 2 million fatality free shifts.

The company has confirmed that the temporary suspension of mining operations resulted in a loss of approximately 1 500 oz of production attributable to Aquarius.

Aquarius Platinum said that it continues to support the enquiry into the accident by the Department of Mineral Resources.
