ASX-listed Base Resources announced this morning the successful achievement of another key milestone in the development of the Kwale Mineral Sands project in Kenya, with the closing of the Mukurumudzi Dam.

With a storage capacity of 9 gigalitres, the Mukurumudzi Dam is the primary water resource for the Kwale project. As a consequence, closing of the dam ahead of the wet season, which is due to start in the next few weeks, was a critical milestone in ensuring sufficient process water for the scheduled commissioning of the processing plant in the third quarter of this year.
