JSE-listed African Eagle has revealed that their former chairperson, Euan Worthington, has filed a winding up petition against the company, claiming the company owed him £57 005.09. He resigned from his position in April 2012.

The company stated that they were seeking legal advice, however shareholders should be aware that, in the event that a winding up order is made at the hearing of the Petition, the company will, at that point, be placed into liquidation.

African Eagle’s flagship asset is the Dutwa Nickel project in northern Tanzania. The bankable feasibility study being undertaken on the project has recently been suspended.
