The Board of De Beers has appointed Mark Cutifani, Chief Executive of Anglo American as Chairman of the De Beers Group.Following his appointment, Cutifani commented, “I am honoured to join and lead the De Beers Board. This appointment takes effect immediately.Cutifani is a trained mining engineer and was CEO of AngloGold Ashanti, a position that saw him revitalise and restructure the global mining business. As a result he delivered significant business improvements across the board. He is a trained mining engineer and is the President of the SA Chamber of Mines.
