Environmental Authorisation has been granted for Coal of Africa’s Makhado Project in Limpopo.

The Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET) has granted the Makhado Project Environmental Authorisation in terms of National Environmental Management (Act No 107 of 1998) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (2010).

“We welcome the decision by LEDET, which is a further step towards achieving full regulatory compliance for the Makhado Project, and enabling meaningful contribution to the socio-economic transformation of the Limpopo Province,” says David Brown, Coal of Africa’s Executive Chairman.

“We are fully committed to creating sustainable value in the areas in which we operate, and will continue to engage with all our stakeholders to ensure the responsible development of the Makhado Project,” he adds.
