JCB has launched the new 20-tonne JS205 crawler excavator, which will replace the JS200HD, and will be sold in markets throughout Africa, India and Asia.
The machine uses JCB’s robust global boom and dipper arm design for maximum performance and longevity, improving digging performance and lowering customer operating costs. It boasts a proven Cummins 6BT engine delivering 104kW (140hp), an advanced hydraulic system contributing to 10% fuel savings, a stronger global boom and dipper construction, and a spacious operator cab with fully ducted air conditioning.
JCB has also redesigned the hydraulic pipework throughout the machine to reduce system pressure loss and cut engine power demand. This combined approach, along with one-touch engine idling and the improvements to the boom structure, deliver fuel savings of up to 10% compared to the previous machine.
“Once again JCB has raised the bar in terms of innovation with the launch of the JS205 tracked excavator,” says Tim Burnhope, JCB chief innovation and growth officer. “Our aim is to innovate and design products that meet our customers’ needs and help them in growing their business. This new 20-tonne excavator offers the best fuel efficiency, coupled with improved performance and productivity.”
