Electra Mining Africa exhibition will offer an opportunity to view the latest technology, new product launches, live demonstrations and interactive displays from over 850 exhibitors.

Taking place from 15-19 September at the Expo Centre, Nasrec in Johannesburg, Electra Mining Africa 2014 will be a launch pad for many exhibitors showcasing their latest products, according to show organiser Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery’s MD Gary Corin.

New technology displays

  • Visitors to the Multotec Group stand will be able to view scale working and static models, as well as cutaway exhibits of Multotec’s equipment
  • Energy and Densification Systems (EDS): EDS will be on show with daily demonstrations of the EDS Multishaft Mill with its energy-saving technology and up to 75% improved efficiency over other mills
  • SEW Eurodrive will be launching its new Girth Gear and Maxolution products, their new Energy Saving Consulting service and will also showcase the Movitrac LTP B, an inverter for the mining industry
  • Visitors to the Joest stand will be able to watch a heavy media separation pilot plant in action, showcasing the performance of the company’s vibrating screens and feeders
  • The Eazi Group of Companies will be launching the new RS Telehandler range at the show. Capable of lifting 3.6 tons and a lift height of 14 metres
  • ACTOM Air Pollution Control will have the innovative Novus Air Tower on display, which is designed for various applications as well as for welding, grinding and plasma or laser cutting operations
  • Pacific Mining will be showcasing the Hanjin Water Hammer that features deep-hole drilling capabilities, a new drilling method with a penetration rate of over 15 times greater than conventional rotary-wash drilling

Reflux Classifier

Minerals processing equipment providers, FLSmidth’s stand will feature a fully operational pilot Reflux Classifier unit.

This innovative technology is fast becoming a preferred technology by major producers of metallurgical coal.
“We’re excited to offer visitors a first-hand view of this technology in action,” says FLSmidth’s capital sales and marketing manager: minerals, Terence Osborn.

“Reflux Classification technology is currently a big focus for us, as we believe it has the potential to revolutionise fine mineral beneficiation in the African mining and minerals processing industries.”

World’s largest telehandler

Manitou Southern Africa will launch the world’s largest telehandler to the mining industry.

“With a maximum lift capacity of 40 tonnes, the Manitou MHT 14350S will be the world’s largest telehandler available on the market,” says Manitou Southern Africa MD Lindsay Shankland.

The model features advanced usability improvements with a 7.2 litre Mercedes-Benz engine and caters for the growing heavy-industrial market and for the handling of conveyor belt reels, tyre assemblies and wheel motors in the mining sector.
